“Morgansfort’s walls are going up” — playtester call

September 18, 2026

We’ve been heads-down on Ironvale, our Basic Fantasy RPG-powered take on classic module-style adventuring, and tonight felt like a real milestone worth sharing.

The database is done in a way that matters: not “we made some monsters,” but 238 of them, with real Basic Fantasy stat blocks, and 124 of those now have genuinely bespoke combat behavior — breath weapons, paralysis, petrification, the works — built against the actual source rules rather than improvised. 74 spells. 16 status effects. A full weapon and armor list. This is the unglamorous grind that makes everything else possible, and it’s real now.

Morgansfort — your home base — has seven working guard towers. Every one of the fortress’s corner and wall towers is built, furnished, and walkable, right down to the trunk under each guard’s bunk. The Toothless Dragon Tavern is pouring drinks. The Iron Helm Inn has rooms upstairs. It’s still a construction site — the walls between these buildings aren’t visually built yet, so right now it plays more like a network of real rooms than a postcard town — but every one of them is real, not a placeholder.

You can play the whole loop right now: create a character, walk through the Hall of Transference, descend into the Gold in the Hills starter dungeon, and make your way to Morgansfort as a home base.

We’re looking for a small group of early playtesters who don’t mind rough edges — in fact, rough edges are exactly what we need eyes on. If that’s you,PM me or leave a comment below..
